Beginning Swing 2 (6-count)

    Improve your Swing dancing with Juliana and Eric! Swing dance is a street dance – it is sheer fun and energy; a combination of connection and athletics. This energetic class will liven up your week with rhythms from the Roaring 20’s through WWII era Big Band Jazz - Creativity encouraged!

    Cost: $40/person for the 4-week series (no drop-ins). 

    This is a progressive series, we will learn concepts that build on each other from week to week. No Partner necessary.  Please no drop-ins after the first class without instructor permission.

    Prerequsites: Must have taken at least four hours of beginning swing and know the six-count basic footwork, including triple-steps; please contact the instructors if you aren't sure that you meet the pre-reqs for this class.

    Please bring a change of clean, soft-soled, non-marking shoes to protect your knees and our wooden dance floor.

Beginning Swing: Lindy Hop

    Lindy Hop, the original swing dance, came out of the African-American communities in Harlem during the 1920s and inspired by the jazz music developing around the same time.

    Join Mo & John for a Beginning Lindy Hop series in March! Whether you’re brand new to swing dancing or have some experience with other dances, we’ll be covering beginning triple-step moves while focusing on understanding connection and developing good technique to help you learn how to dance confidently with any partner!

    Cost: $10/$8 students for each class or $40/$32 for the 4-week series. Includes FREE entry into the Tuesday Practice Session for March! Repeating students $5 per class!

    Prerequsites: No previous dance experience required; these classes are suitable for dancers of all levels.

    No partner necessary.

Lindy Hop in Essex with Juliana

    Note: This class is taught at the Maple Street Rec Center in Essex Junction, and is offered through Essex Junction Recreation and Parks. Please register through their website for this class! And please read all of the locations details below.

    Lindyhop is the original form of swing dancing - a street dance born of the rhythms of the late 1920's through the WWII Big Band era. It is a vehicle to share joy and connection without ever saying a word. This energetic class will liven up your week - creativity encouraged!

    On Tap is just around the corner and has free, live music every Thursday from 7pm-10pm, so a great place to head after class for further dancing and socializing.

    Location Details: Classes are held at Maple St Park, 75 Maple St, Essex Junction, VT 05452. Head to the building next to the basketball courts, West/Southwest of the pool. This is at the end of the parking lot reached from the driveway closest to the 5-corners intersection.

    Cost: Cost is $48 for 4 weeks for one person, or $80 if you bring a dance partner. Please register through the Essex Junction Recreation and Parks website for this class! (Click here for link) 

    Pre-requiste: No previous dance experience or partner necessary. This class is suitable for dancers of all levels, and we encourage dancers who have already taken Lindy Hop to join us to tune-up their swingouts!
