There are so many options for putting pizzazz in your footwork, we've added another one-time class to learn more jazzy moves and footwork variations. Once we break down the steps, we'll work on putting them into our swing dancing in ways that make the dance more fun for ourselves and our partner.

Sarah will teach some of her favorite variations, and you'll leave with some ideas for creating variations of your own.

    Cost: $10/class

Pre-requisite: Familiarity with basic 6-count swing; no partner necessary

Bring a change of clean, non-marking shoes.

Beginner East Coast Swing
Tuesdays  Sep 4 - Sep 25
6:30pm - 7:30pm
  • Click Here For Class Description

East Coast Swing has its roots in Lindy Hop, but the basic step is 6-counts, rather than 8-counts.  Professional dance schools of the 1930-40s felt this 6-count version of swing was more accessible to the masses of people wanting to get out and dance to the big bands, and its popularity continued with 1950s rock-n-roll.  East Coast swing is a great place to start if you've never partner danced before.

Jean Elizabeth will guide you through this 4-week series that covers the basics. You will gain confidence in the basic footwork and rhythm of this dance, and learn about frame and partner connection, all within a variety of fun moves and figures.

Cost: $10/$8 students for each class or $40/$32 for the 4-week series, FREE entry into the Practice Session. Repeat students $5 per class!

Prerequsites: No previous dance experience required; these classes are suitable for dancers of all levels.
    No partner necessary.

Please bring a change of clean, soft-soled, non-marking shoes to protect your knees and our wooden dance floor.
