Solo Jazz Routines + Review Workshop

When the songs “Tain’t What You Do” or “Tuxuedo Junction” play at the social dance, it’s time to Shim Sham! Are you familiar with the general Shim Sham routine, but would like to brush up on certain steps or sequences? We Tranky did it in August, but would you like to Tranky Doo it again?
Join Celia and Lisa on Sunday, December 6th for an afternoon of reviewing these classic solo jazz routines that we learned this year at Vermont Swings. We will be spending approximately 55 minutes on each routine, with a break in the middle. We will also explore other solo jazz vocabulary that participants would like to review, and discuss ways to use these in our partner dancing.
Students are welcome to participate in a single routine session, or participate in both for the whole workshop at a discounted rate! Let’s boogie back in time to these dances that we learned in 2026, and boogie forward into 2027! $15 per 55 min session or $25 for the whole 2 hour workshop.
Workshop Schedule:
- 3-3:55 Shim sham review
- 3:55-4:05 10 min break
- 4:05-5:00 Tranky Doo review
